BearHands cleaver replaced my other carbon steel cleaver which was poorly maintained. (I didn't know any better!) I've received many compliments as it's displayed on my knife block. I finally got to use it this past week. IT IS SHARP! (measured ~160 BESS) what a joy to use!

This slicer is my favorite for Brisket and Tri Tip. It glides through proteins effortlessly. It stays sharp for a long time and is easy to sharpen.

i bought this special edition BearHands cleaver to replace my old cleaver of 4 years. truth be told, i didn't pay attention to the types of steels used in knives, and as you can see, my old cleaver has oxidized/rusted as it's fully high carbon steel which i didn't know how to care for TBH. now that i know, i could restore it, but as sharp as it is, i really didn't have the need for such a curved blade in my kitchen. enter the BearHands cleaver forged in Japanese SLD steel (semi-stainless). out of the box, i could feel its razor edge. when i tested it on my sharpness scale, i averaged ~160 on the BESS scale which is excellent. it is well-balanced and has an eye-catching one-of-one handle design. note the hand-drawn/etched design on the blade serves not only to create a signature piece, it helps release cut foods. this cleaver really is a beauty to look at and use. my old cleaver lived inside a drawer, but this one i proudly display on my new revolving magnetic block.
